Dr. McGirl graduated from the University of Toronto, Dental School; he then completed a General Practice Residency at the University
of Western Ontario. His interest in teaching led to an appointment as a part-time faculty member at the University of Western Ontario
while also maintaining a private practice. Having always had a keen interest in anesthesia, he was compelled to enter a Dental Anesthesiology
Residency at the University of Pittsburgh. This interest culminated in an outpatient Anesthesiology Fellowship. During his anesthesiology
training he gained exposure to pioneering work in Oral Implantology. At the completion of his anesthesia training he further completed
an Oral Implantology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. To date, he is part of a select group of Oral Implantologists who
provide both implant surgery (placement) and implant restoration (attaching new teeth).
